GEA manufactures a compact two-way valve with the same features as the multi-port rotary tube selector valves.

Multi-port rotary tube selector valve diverts pneumatically conveyed powders and granules from one line up to any of ten lines. GEA rotary tube selector valve diverts pneumatically conveyed powders and granules from one line up to any of ten lines. Flow can also be converged from multiple lines into one line. Valve is often used to replace a series of two-way valves, thereby simplifying the system and reducing maintenance. Conveying line selection is fully automated and controlled from one location. Solid piping provides higher temperature and pressure ratings and is less susceptible to wear than flexible-hose stations. Compact rotary configuration saves space and can be mounted horizontally or vertically.

Application

The two-way RTSV diverts or converges the flow of pneumatically conveyed powders and pellets in dilute and dense phase pressure and vacuum systems. Solid piping provides higher pressure and temperature ratings, and is less susceptible to wear than flexible-hose designs.

An inflatable seal on both ports and a rotary divert-tube union ensures airtight conveying and eliminates the leakage problems associated with flap- and plug-type diverter valves. The rotary tube eliminates dead spaces and ensures clean purging to prevent cross-contamination between ports. The valve can be mounted either vertically or horizontally. Further features include:

  • 50–350 mm diameter tube and pipe sizes
  • fully pneumatic operation
  • inflatable seal on both ports and rotary divert-tube union provides airtight conveying up to 5 bar (75 psig) line pressure as standard
  • special high pressure options available
  • totally enclosed pneumatic control valves and electrical terminal connections
  • position confirmation switches
  • seals inflate on position confirmation and automatically deflate during switching
  • stainless steel and carbon steel construction
  • unused port is automatically sealed off by the rotary tube plate
  • sanitary construction and tool-free dis-assembly are available options
  • positive port alignment
  • valves can be used in dilute phase and dense phase systems
  • uniform bore allows constant velocity, minimizes pressure loss and ensures clean purging
  • designed in accordance with USDA 3A standards.
